June 1976 saw the introduction of Luther, Luther Vandross’ss debut album, marking a significant milestone in the R&B genre. Among its hits, "Funky Music (Is A Part Of Me)" gained particular fame when it was reimagined by Vandross and David Bowie, emerging as "Fascination" on Bowie’s legendary 1975 album Young Americans, where Vandross also contributed to background vocals and arrangements.
