Originally released October 24, 1995, the album would debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified 9x platinum by the RIAA. It yielded major hits like "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" the band's unlikely first Top 40 hit the exquisite "1979" and epic "Tonight, Tonight" as well as a thoroughly inspired series of videos. Michael Schenker's status as the most exciting guitarist in heavy rock was confirmed, the band were rejuvenated with personnel change as Paul Raymond replaced Danny Peyronel and Leo Lyons, who had produced the band's previous three albums was replaced by Ron Nevison, whose work with Led Zeppelin had impressed and signalled the first in a stellar run of collaborations. We are always on the lookout for soundtracks to re... Moreissue on LP, especially from the late ‘80s/early ‘90s when labels were barely releasing vinyl if at all. But we’d sort of hit a rough patch, a slump if you will, when every title we pursued was either already taken or just plain unavailable. Then, one night as we were fast asleep, we were awakened by a voice. “If you press it, they will come.” Huh? Press what? Who will come? Then it hit us…could it possibly be true that James Horner’s classic soundtrack to Field of Dreams has not been reissued on vinyl?! We did a little “scouting” around, and sure enough…this record hasn’t been available since its very limited original release back in 1989! So this is a rookie reissue, and quite the phenom at that (just like you, Moonlight Graham!), pressed in green and yellow “cornfield” vinyl, and featuring James Horner’s amazing, spine-tingling score. Black Sabbath made a two-pronged comeback in 1980 ... Moreand 1981 when Ronnie James Dio joined their ranks as their new lead singer for the platinum albums, Heaven And Hell and Mob Rules. On the 1982 Mob Rules U.S. tour, they decided to record shows to create the first official Black Sabbath live album. With material drawn evenly between songs written with Ronnie as well as older classics such as “War Pigs” and “Iron Man,” when Live Evil was released at the end of 1982, it represented an accurate and powerful memento of Black Sabbath Mk2 on their second world tour. Although it was hailed by influential heavy metal magazine Kerrang! as “one of the greatest live albums of all time” in 1983, the band was never completely satisfied with the original mix. Now we are able to present a fresh, new 40th anniversary mix of the entire album, remixed from the original analog multi tracks by longtime associate of the band, Wyn Davis. Rooney (named after the principal in Ferris Buelle... Morer’s Day Off) was formed in high school by singer-songwriter Robert Schwartzman, whose list of celebrity connections is long: brother to actor Jason Schwartzman, cousin to actor Nic Cage and director Sofia Coppola, and nephew of Francis Ford Coppola. But it wasn’t just celebrity that turbocharged Rooney’s rise; songs like “Blueside,” “I’m Shakin’,” and “I’m a Terrible Person” blend power pop with British Invasion and punk influences to create a sort of rock and roll classicism in the best sense of the word. That’s why none other than Johnny Ramone selected them for the Ramones tribute album We’re a Happy Family, and why the band were tabbed to tour with such cult faves as Weezer, The Strokes, and The Donnas (they also appeared as themselves in the first season of The O.C.). That’s also why their 2003 self-titled debut (produced by Jimmy Iovine among others) sold a cool half million copies…but somehow it’s never been out on LP. The group made four critically-acclaimed albums for Elektra…but in 1999, the label dropped them on the eve of releasing The Days of Our Nights, leaving them without American distribution (the album was eventually released on the short-lived Jericho imprint). As a result, The Days of Our Nights has been hard to find over the years; in fact, this marks the first time it’s been available as a stand-alone vinyl release in the U.S. But it really is a lost gem in their catalog; as Wareham says “Sometimes all you remember is the pain of making a record, or the events swirling around its release, and it’s only years later you come to appreciate the songs. The album followed the release of Young’s hugely successful album Harvest, and when it was released in 1973 it featured all previously unreleased songs.
